Neither a borrower nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend.
Said LORD POLONIUS to LAERTES in Shakespeare's Hamlet.
I really need to learn to quit volunteering my tools out to friends... and yes exfriends.
Having always been know as "Timm the Toolman" (even before Tool Time) friends frequently ask (or I volunteer) to borrow my tools.
I don't know why they even ask to "borrow", why not just say "Bob can I have your Drill until someone borrows it from me and never brings it back?". Or why not say "Bob, can I have your compound miter saw and I'll bring it back as a usless piece of junk when you remember who borrowed it?"
It happens every time yet I keep saying SURE, or even worse when I know someone could use something I say "Hey would you like to borrow my cement mixer?"
Geeze! What's the matter with me???
Someday I'm going to remember the rest of that quote... To thine ownself be true.
