Poke & Hope

Bob Timm, National Marketing Realtors, Minot ND

Cue and BallsI've always associated that term to the days that I shot pool for beer money about forty years ago. When you shoot pool for money (usually beer money) you not only need to know what you are doing but you also need to know what the balls are going to do when you call your shot. I never did like slop pool, if my money was on the line I wanted my opponent to call his shot EXACTLY. I don't know if the term poke and hope originated with sloppy pool players or if Johnny was once told to poke that hornets nest to see if it was active and hope that it wasn't. Bee's Nest

Investing in Real Estate should not be a game or challenge involving poke and hope. Weather buying Real Estate to be your own abode or buying an income producing property you don't want to poke the wheel of fortunate with your life savings, or a 30 year debt, in hopes that you just bought yourself a live hornets nest.

Several years ago we had the misfortune of hosting a large hornets nest under our front steps. We tried for weeks to eradicate it but nothing seemed to do. Finally I caved in and hired a professional bee keeper to see if he could get the hornets out. It took his professional skills and tools to get the job done properly.

Buying a home without the help of professionals can be a poke and hope situation, especially when dealing with a For Sale By Owner (FSBO). Realtors are trained to help you avoid many of the possible stings of buying property. A good home inspector and an appraiser can also help you avoid painful stings and let's not forget about a local home town lender that knows the local market as well.

A lot of people have poked and hoped that the hornets nest was not active by purchasing property without the help of professionals and done okay, alot have gotten stung. Why take the chance. If you are looking to purchase property in Minot ND why not get the insurance that a professional Real Estate agent provides to protect you from being stung in a bad Real Estate deal. A professional Realtor costs you, the Buyer, nothing and protects you against many of the stings associated with a bad real estate deal.

Is it true that you can not have enough storage space?
