With the idea of staying cool let me suggest you listen to Friday's radio broadcast which I posted in podcast form HERE .
Aside from spending a day (which you easily could) at North Hill Bowl where the temp is always 70 degrees I'm probably going to spend the earliest part of the morning in the park. However temps are projected to jump into the upper 90's very early on Saturday.
As a coffee fan I'm eager to check out the grand opening of With Room Coffee. I'd also like an explanation of the strange name. Located at 400 E Central Ave.
If it wasn't going to be closing in on 100 degrees I'd check out the Firefighters workout in Oak Park from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
Dakota Square Mall is also a good place to beat the heat and you can attend the JelleyBeanStreet fingerpainting festival. Proceeds go to support children's programs/charities.
One more way to stay cool is to head to the library for one of several programs going on over there.
What ever you chose to do stay cool and safe. Don't be one of those kooks I see jogging out in the 100 degree sun, I don't want to pick you up off the sidewalk and haul your dehydrated butt to the emergency room.
