Friday I closed on a rural listing. It was nice to get out to the country as it's been weeks since I left the big city of Minot. I was pleasantly surprised to see the canola fields were looking great as it's one of my favorite crops to photograph. The coolest thing to see is a canola field next to a flax field close to harvest and we do see that fairly common here. The 1st time you see a flax field it's easy to think you are seeing a body of water and then you realize... water doesn't come in hills and other non-level shapes. There was no flax on this trip but there was water.
This last one I call "Water, Oil, and Oil" because of the oil rigs in the back of the picture... and for those who did not know: canola is used to produce a variety of oils, mostly cooking, but also in oil based paint and even synthetic motor oil.
