Minot's ONLY Historical District, Eastwood Park

History of Eastwood Park

This plaque was cast prior to the 2011 flood which was much more devastating than the 1969 flood. Several homes were lost in 2011 and some out of State contractors came here to make a fast buck and flipped homes in a very shoddy fashion. Thank God there are still many of the original homes standing and have been restored in a loving fashion. I was told that Eastwood Park was the original "Doctor's Neighborhood" of Minot but I'll do a little more research on it. Here are several of the beautiful homes in Eastwood Park, Minot's only Historical District.

This neighborhood neighbors my own and we are both in the same GREAT school district, Sunnyside. We both also boarder Roosevelt Park. The Northern boarder of Eastwood Park is Central Aveune in Minot which gives it excellent walk-ability into the downtown area. Eastwood Park also is home to two historic places of worship, the only Jewish Temple in a very large area and a Greek Orthodox Church.

The temple in Eastwood Park

With the shrinking number of members of the Temple Beth Israel they needed to sell their building. Fortunately for the members of the Temple the new owners found it beneficial to lease back some time to them.

Orthodox church

I don't know if this holds true today or not but back when I was a church consultant I new that the Priest who served this church lived in Dickinson ND and served 3 churches (Dickinson, Wilton, and Minot ND) which adds up to a lot of miles.

My final picture from Eastwood Park is the "false arch" bridge mentioned in the plaque above. This bridge and many other locations in Eastwood Park and neighboring Roosevelt Park make the area a real favorite for photographers of all skill livels.

Currently there are 3 homes for sale in Eastwood Park. They are listed at $164,900. , $214,500 , and $225,000. No homes have sold in Eastwood Park in the last year according to MLS records.

HI Bob "RealMan" Timm - I really enjoyed reading the plaque. I can certainly see why this is a historical area. I really appreciate seeing all the different achitectural designs. Thanks for sharing this post. No homes sold! Peole are happy in this area!

Bob,

What a great tour you gave us through Eastwood Park, and the homes are beautiful. So glad this was designated as a historic district. A

I'd love to live there Sheri Sperry - MCNE® but of course all the cool homes have a lot of steps and I'm at that age where I don't want to do a lot of steps every day.

Thank you A. of Ron and Alexandra Seigel . I wanted to show the diverse styles in Eastwood Park. I've seen the inside of many of these homes and have sold a few as well over the years. I'm just hoping that after two major floods people will keep up a gallant effort to give them that original look.

There are a lot of communities that don't care about the heritage of old

It was fun reviewing the neighborhood Dorie Dillard . It's fun to consider the amount of work it took to put these up back in 1906.

Thank goodness there are those who want to preserve our heritage William Feela

Morning ob.

Those are some good looking homes.  Any idea on why those three haven't sold?

I'd love to tell you and I kind of hinted on one yesterday with my question in the Q&A section BUT I was also reminded (and I should have been reminded) not to comment on listings that are not mine James Dray .

I like the look of those wonderful old historic homes and structures, Bob.  I also remember the 2011 flood that heavily impacted your area.  It seems imposible to believe it has been 7 years since then.

Good morning Bob. I really enjoyed reading this and seeing your pictures too.

Myrl Jeffcoat in some ways it seems like a life time ago and in others just yesterday. Thankfully for the most part it was a lifetime ago.

Thank you Sheila Anderson . I've often bragged about the homes but I'd never gotten around to photographing them until this post.

What a gorgeous residential district. So happy to see it's dubbed as a historical area in Minot. The homes are unique and filled with character - that's just the way I like my neighborhoods. :)

Oh, I love the historic district of Eastwood Park, Bob! I sell a lot of homes in the historic areas of Charlotte and absolutely feel more comfortable in them than the new 'box' style houses which are seriously lacking in character!

I could easily move over to and live in Eastwood Park Debe Maxwell, CRS . (it would only be a move of about 4 city blocks) and in fact considered it just 6 months ago when a home came up for sale. The funny thing is the seller was also a Timm but of no relationship to myself.
