Winter is coming, a time for compassion.

I think everyone is aware of how brutal North Dakota winters can be and just like everywhere else in the world North Dakota has a population of homeless people. Can you imagine being homeless in an environment as harsh as a North Dakota winter?

Here is an opportunity to show compassion AND have an enjoyable family time. I hope to see you there.

Hello Bob,  I can not think of how bad the winters are up there and to be out in them  Pike Peaks had 6 inches of snow on Sunday.

I cannot imagine but I do know it exists AND homelessness is a real issue in the veteran's population. This is a wonderful way to reach out to the homeless population

That snowfall made the news here Will Hamm as the 1st snowfall in the nation for this season.

Hi Bob- you're so right, with cold weather coming, it is also the time to remember those who will need extra help and compassion. Even though we don't have the harsh cold in Florida, we do get harsh rains. The other day when we were stopped, we gave some cash and our umbrella to a gentleman standing at the corner asking for money.

A great cause to promote, Bob! Fortunately, we don't have the same brutal winters that Minot has, but we still always have a lot of need in terms of hunger and shelter here in Charlotte, as well.

Chicagoland is bad enough for me, Bob "RealMan" Timm ... I can only imagine how perilous it gets in your state.  Kudos to you and this men's group for taking ACTION.  So many talk, but do nothing ...

Homeless under any condition is difficult Kathy Streib . Just as it's hard to imagine living outdoors in 30 below weather as it would be living in 100 degree weather.

I'm sur Nina Hollander and with the population in your area the need must be all that much greater as well.

We may not have a large number of homeless men in our area Gene Mundt, IL/WI Mortgage Originator - FHA/VA/Conv/Jumbo/Portfolio/Refi but you sure have to feel for those who try to survive here.

Bob,

When my father was consulting at the SAC base in Grand Forks, he told us that it was law in North Dakota to help a stranded motorist in the winter as the temperatures get down to way below 0 with the windchill...I cannot imagine what it would be like to be homeless in the winter.  A

Hi Bob... the need is way too great for an affluent a city as Charlotte.

Posted by Nina Hollander, Your Charlotte/Ballantyne/Waxhaw/Fort Mill Realtor (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage | Charlotte, NC) 2 months ago

I know military personal are required to stop and help but I did not know that is law  for Jon/Jane Q. Public A. Ron and Alexandra Seigel . Not a bad idea but I think it could be risky for a single individual.

Hopefully your booming economy will eventually lead to prosperity for some of those who are down and out Nina Hollander . In the case of those who can not work lets hope that the charity of others will be enough.

Hi Bob... economy here has always been relatively good. The down and out are a chronic class for the most part.

Hi Bob,

Good post we all need to be compassionate all through the year but especially in the winter. I know those ND winters well, I lived northeast of you for years in Manitoba and those were some of the coldest winters I have ever experienced. Thanks for sharing.

It really is hard to imagine living out in the elements up North Steve Higgins . I know many parts of Canada are warmer than ND but then again some are as cold or colder.

Hi Bob,

We have moved to a warmer part of Canada. Very thankful to be living in beautiful BC and to be away from that bitter cold.

I've only been up North to fish Steve Higgins but I'd love to see BC sometime. I will give you a call if I'm up that way.
