The Irony of it All

Even on holidays I'm an early riser. I'm usually up before 6:00 AM and if I ever sleep past 7 I must be deathly ill so it's no surprise that as usual I was up and about making preparations for this beautiful Christmas day.

I think I'm just as excited as I was when I was a six year old and here I am now in my sixties... for totally opposite reasons of course... I want to see the excitement on others faces and do what I can to insure a joyous attitude for the day.

The only gift I picked out to give today (the better half does all the rest of the shopping) is for my Bride and I had to make room for it on top of my dresser (I can't tell you what it is just in case she reads this post before I give it to her.

In making room I had to clear off many of my things and among those things I found these (not my actual picture) which were given out at our last Easter service.

Easter nailsWhat a reminder of "The Rest Of The Story" as Paul Harvey would say. Christians celebrate the birth of the Savior who came to sacrifice Himself for the wrongs we have committed and all we need to do is accept the Gift of salvation he provided... and NOTHING else!

You too Gita Bantwal . We just checked out our stockings hung in front of the fireplace and evidently Santa thought we had all been good.

Exactly James Dray . Christmas has NO meaning apart from Easter.

That is the true reason for the season, now I have to check back to your blog to find out what it was that you got your wife for Christmas!  I hope you had a great one my friend!

Thanks Brian England . Now that we are past present opening time I can tell you it was a last minute stroke of genius. I noticed her dresser was covered in jewelry and some of it was even in egg cartons so I bought her one of those large stand on it's own jewelry boxes. Problem is that it's too big and so now it's not full... need I say more?

Bob, I am so thankful to have celebrated Christmas with my family this year. The day before Christmas another driver came into my lane and hit me almost head on. Sore chest and a totaled car and the other driver uninsured is what came out of the wreck but so thankful to be alive! It indeed was a great Christmas!

Wow Mike Frazier , I'm so glad you are still here with us!
