Today Was the Day

Today was the day for me to shave my beard off!

Father and SonBefore I got the dog grooming shears out I had to take a picture with my 17 year old son Timmothy. When I look at my High School graduation picture I can see Timmothy and I are definitely father and son. I to had a full beard and long hair but I can tell you Timmothy's beard is as thick as mine was at 18 and his hair is much thicker than mine ever was. He is also 2 inches taller and nearly 80 pounds heavier then I was. I am so glad that unlike me he is focused on school and church.

So now I'm going to have to update my profile pick to reflect the new (older than dust) me with a clean shaven face. Maybe tomorrow.

His mother and I asked him about that too Hannah Williams . He thought it was cool. We decided he was posing for a Rock N Roll album cover.

Bob "RealMan" Timm it must be special day for you shaving the beard off. Timmothy looks good as his dad!

Dear Bob,

Neat picture! I am glad Timmothy has his priorities straight. If you have the brains, may as well put them to use. Will he be shaving too for the warmer weather?

Morning Bob.

You should have left the beard alone, except to trim it.  I grew one a few decades ago for a couple of weeks

Good morning Bob. I can see you in your son. Why did you decide to shave?

Good morning, Bob... well, I'm still older than you! As for Timmothy... I can't believe how much he's grown! Time sure does fly.

Nina Hollander Timmothy's growth spirt has been amazing and I don't think he is done yet. I'm really glad his interests are where they are now but eventually he is going to be a wonderful family man.

Michael Jacobs my beard is so thick I had to take a break after the groomers shears. I just finnished the job this morning (another hour long job) and my skin is so raw I'll hold off on the picture until this afternoon.

Thanks John Pusa . In all honesty I wish I would have been as burly as my son is when I was his age but I probably would have abused that gift as I abused all my positive attributes back then.

Dorte, Timmothy is so much wiser then I was at his age. As they say I "was to smart for my britches" back then and only used my smarts to get into trouble. As far as him shaving his off... he hasn't said. His grooming choices are driving his mom a little crazy right now. He went from insisting to having his hair cut weekly (which she loved) to this and she is not to fond of the beard either.

Endre Barath, Jr. this morning I finished the job with two twin edge razors and an electric razor. My face is sore but it's kind of nice to feel fresh air across my face again.

It may be back next fall James Dray if, by then, I forget how hard it was to shave it off. It took two days and my face is raw.

That's a great compliment Sheila Anderson that you can see me in Timmothy. I shaved because it was getting uncomfortable (I can't really explain that) and I found myself fidgeting with it to often.

Good morning Bob. My wife would say, you shave it off and sonny boy can keep it! Like Endre Barath, Jr., never had one, never will! Enjoy your day!

Wayne Martin my wife is not to happy with my sons grooming choices lately. It reminds me of me when I was his age so I'm kinda proud of him .

Sounds like you and your wife have done a fine job in raising him, focusing on school and church is definitely something to be proud of.

Timmothy has grown up.  I seem to remember earlier pictures of him in your past postings.  He was only a kid then!

Nice photo with some fun attitude. We too look forward to the sans facial hair photo. D

Brian England , thank you. Timmothy is very unique, I'm glad he has his own way and did not follow mine.

Thank you Sheri Sperry - MCNE® . I've been feeling a little under the weather today so I've been slow in getting to take that new pic.

It's been amazing Myrl Jeffcoat . In less then a year he went from the smallest one in the family to the largest.

Thanks Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD . I don't know if it's the Samson effect or what but I've just felt week all day after shaving it completely off this morning.
