My Sunday

It's been a full day for this old dog.

As usual Sunday morning starts with church. I run the worship screens at Rex and Iour church during the 8:15 AM service and recently I have become the "scripture reader" as well. These are duties I have asked for being I have very little other talent.

Immediately after worship we stopped at the Minot Rural Fire department's annual Pancake breakfast. I got to visit with my long time friend Rex, the Fire Chief and I also made some new friends with the couple sitting across from us.

After eating two pancakes the size of semi-truck tires (on the 1st day of my renewed diet) I decided it was time to get back to something I had not done for about 40 years.

Bob's teaching tennisTeach tennis. This was a huge challenge and a labor of love. My son Timmothy is in racket sports at school and he is just about to start tennis. I want to help him out being athletics are not his strong suit. So I, at 65, having had two heart attacks, suffering from osteoarthritis, having damaged my leg in an accident six weeks  ago, decided to teach tennis as I did 40 years ago. BTW I'm a good teacher, I am perfect at lobbing any shot back to my student, no matter where they are on the court, so they can slam it back at me like a guided missile.

Timmothy's CarNext on the agenda was to change oil on Timmothy's car (it used to look like the one to the right but a little accident this winter has changed it's appearance) and to wash a couple of our vehicles. Later this summer I promised him a lesson in Bondo auto body as I learned it when I was his age.

New SproutsLast of all on the chores end of things I replanted some new sprouts that have come up since my crop failure disaster.

All of these thing I enjoy even if they are "chores". The one fly in the ointment was that when it came to changing Timmothy's cars oil filter I had purchased the wrong one so we had to make a quick trip to the auto parts store to finnish the job. It would be whole nother post to talk about how I love the automotive engineers that do all they can so you and I can not work on our own cars. I have a strong recommendation where they can put the oil filter on this car!

Morning Bob.

I got tired just reading your post for today.  I've been up a whole 2 hours now, it's almost time for a nap

Now that was a busy, activity-packed Sunday!

Thanks Sam Shueh , I actually got a couple of other little things done as well.

I love naps James Dray but I think I only got one 15 minute one in yesterday.

It was more then I'm used to Kat Palmiotti but it was our 1st day over 60 degrees and I wanted to take full advantage of it. Today is also supposed to hit 60 but then we drop back into the 40's for a week. I hope the weather guessers are their usual inaccurate selves and we get a lot warmer.

Looks like a very busy day, but I love your attitude.  "All of these thing I enjoy even if they are "chores". I love that you choose to be active in church even though you don't have "a talent".  Great blog...thanks for sharing!

Good morning, Bob... I think you packed two days of activity into one Sunday, yesterday!

Thank you Norma J. Elkins . I long to be part of the ministry so I try to figure out where my limited talents can be used.

I did Nina Hollander but if I keep really busy then my mind won't constantly be on someone in NC . Fortunately for me Nina I must be in fairly good physical shape being I'm not to sore this morning.

About the only thing missing Sheila Anderson was going to rummage sales (which you know I love). The rummage sales have not started in earnest yet being people still don't know if we will have a nice 60 degree day or a snow storm.

It sounds like you had a delightful and productive Sunday, Bob!  I hope you have a good week!

So far so good Myrl Jeffcoat . I was really happy to wake up today and not have aching muscles after the tennis lesson.

You did a lot for a Sunday. I managed crawl out of bed to go out for Mexican food, followed by a mile walk around Midtown, stopping for a chocolate raspberry whiskey gelato. Then back home for to read a book.

Like your new profile photo, Bob!!

Thanks Elizabeth Weintraub Sacramento Realtor Top 1% Your Sunday sounds like my perfect Sunday except I like springing out of bed when I'm fully refreshed.

Hi Bob - your Sunday was definitely action-filled. Continued success on the tennis court - I am sure your cardiologist will agree.

I am just hoping my time on the court doesn't lead to time on a gurney Michael Jacobs .
