It Wasn't Boot Camp

East Totten Trail Camp SiteI was AWL from AR for a couple of days but for good reason... we got the little Scamp camper out for it's maiden voyage of 2019.

Camping072019We did not get the site I like the most but I felt really lucky to get a spot at all being it was the 4th of July weekend. That being said about half of the reserved sites didn't even show up... which was also nice. The lake was ruff with a strong wind out of the SE but we don't boat or fish so it didn't detract from our fun at all.

A shout out to the North Dakota State Park people who keep the parks clean and orderly. They do a GREAT job. Here are a few pictures.

Island view

Beach view

Very little of the shore line is developed as Lake Sakakawea & Audubon are both man made lakes and the corp of engineers owns the land around the lakes. Because of this there is a lot of wildlife. I had to take this picture of a Wildrose for my friend Roy Kelley .

On the 2nd day I had a hard time finding my swim trunks...

and it had nothing to do with drinking to much Bacardi

missing shortsActually I did have two beers but that was way before I lost my shorts. BTW do you see them in the picture?

Thanks for sharing your trip and your photographs. We should make a flower photographer out of you before the end of the summer.

Although it was a short stay it was one of the best camping trips ever Lottie Kendall .

Thanks Roy Kelley . I doubt I will upgrade my equipment so any other pointers that may help are welcome.

Short sometimes is the best, Bob. A one- or two-night trip can be immensely restorative.

You can usually improve almost any photograph by some editing. I use iPiccy.com. It is free. You will be even more impressed with your photographs.

Thanks for the tip Roy Kelley . I like shooting with no filters or editing to hone my skills but I do use photscape to crop and resize my shots.

Morning Bob.

You lost your shorts?  Not even going there, although inquiring minds want to know...  LOL

It was a senior moment James Dray . I forgot that I put them on top of the umbrella to dry.

Glad you enjoyed your little get-away, Bob. That kind of get-away is something people would have to drag me to kicking and screaming, I'm afraid!

Nina Hollander I'm not a fan of kicking and screaming so you and I can do all our camping at The Hilton instead.

Bob "RealMan" Timm now that's a better idea, Bob! As I've often said... my idea of camping is a weekend at a 5-star hotel preferably in a world capital like Paris or Rome!

Posted by Nina Hollander, Your Charlotte/Ballantyne/Waxhaw/Fort Mill Realtor (Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage ) 4 months ago

Nina Hollander , on my budget we would have to settle for the State capital, Bismarck ND.

Posted by Bob "RealMan" Timm, Owner of Ward Co. Notary Services, retired Realtor (Ward County Notary Services) 4 months ago

Well, I've never been to Bismarck... who knows, I might like it! It's a capital, after all!

I'm hoping you had an extra pair of shorts with you while in search for those trunks, Bob "RealMan" Timm!  Talk about WILDLIFE!!
