The Great Tomato Festival was established in 1989. It is an annual, indoor summer gourmet picnic with a classic fixed menu of Haider's Salsa and Chips, Assorted Tomato Hors d'oeuvres, Smoked Pork Chops, Tomato & Cucumber Salad, Roasted Tomatoes stuffed with Rice, Beer Batter Bread, and Chocolate Brownie. Evening activities include live jazz music, a silent auction, Menu Venue, and tomato displays courtesy of MarketPlace Foods. This is a community fund-raiser, which benefits non-profit organizations, including the Minot Public Library, Taube Museum of Art, Minot Symphony Orchestra.

It would be amazing to see you there!

Wishing you outstanding weather and record attendance

Thank you Sally K. & David L. Hanson . The giant pork chops are grilled outdoors but the entire event takes place in the ND State Fairs largest event room so weather is never a problem. I'd like to see this year attendance break 1,000.

Hi Bob - I imagine this will be a scent-sational event.

Morning Bob.

Did not get my fill of tomatoes last year, this year is different.  I paid 15.02 yesterday for just 6 tomatoes.  I would have paid double that.  My wife found them at a farmers market.  Sooooooo good

We have a tomato festival in Charlotte each year, as well, Bob. I'm not much into tomatoes unless they are in sauce for pasta. But I could certainly go for some of those chocolate brownies (so long as no one snuck any tomotoes in them). Wishing you a great time!

Michael Jacobs it would be if any of the food was cooked on location. The chops are cooked on location but outside of the building on large grills.

To bad we don't live closer James Dray . This year we have a super abundance of cherry tomatoes. We have been giving away a quart a day. We tried a new breed for our larger tomatoes and they have been producing well too but they are also much smaller then the "BeefMasters" I enjoy.

Nina Hollander the brownies are indeed tomato free. The food is always good but I just love the social aspect of this gathering.

I can see why this event would be your favorite, it sounds like a lot of fun.  I love tomatoes!
